Ann Curry

Ann Curry is an American photographer and journalist. She has been reporting for more than 45 years focused on human suffering in the aftermath of natural catastrophes and war zones. Curry was a reporter for the wars in Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo, and Central African Republic. Ann Curry is a journalist anchorperson for television, reporter and anchorperson that was born on the 26th of June 1956. Her most famous role was has been on Today, the National Broadcasting Co. morning newscast. Curry was renowned for her coverage of the humanitarian crisis in war-ravaged countries and on natural catastrophes. Curry was born in Japan and was brought up by a Japanese mother. Her father served as an U.S. Navy sailor. Her father was with the mother of her in Japan when he was a stationed in Japan following World War II. Because of the military service of her father, the family has moved around quite a bit. Curry attended high school in Ashland, Oregon. Curry graduated from high school in 1978 and earned an undergraduate degree in journalism at the University of Oregon. In the role of an intern at KTVL Channel 10 Medford, Oregon she began her career in the field of broadcasting. She became the first woman anchor for the station when she aged 22. Then, she was an anchor/reporter at KGW located in Portland Oregon. After four years, she relocated to Los Angeles and became a reporter for KCBS TV. The two Emmy Awards were won during her time with KCBS-TV.
